The best way to
get cheap flowers for Valentines Day, is to grow your own
flowers. However this option will not apply to 99.9% of people
reading this. So how can you get cheaper deals at florists
for delivery on the 14th February.
You have to remember
that the time of year in question is when most florists make
their profit. So normally I would say forget Valentines Day
for cheap
flowers, because prices do get inflated around mid February,
but there are ways to get them slightly cheaper.
Firstly, know exactly
what kind of flowers and arrangement you are looking for.
Then shop around by telephoning 3-5 florists and state exactly
what you want to send and ask for a price inclusive of delivery.
At this point a good commercially aware florist will try and
talk you into buying more expensive flowers. If you really
are on a tight budget and want a cheap price try and avoid
falling for their sales patter, after all you are looking
to get the best deal available. Once you have got the quotes,
trying telephoning the 2nd and 3rd cheapest florist and see
if they will beat the price of the lowest one.
You can also shop
around on the internet and look for deals, this can be time
consuming as you have to trawl through various search engines.
Beware of price comparison websites, because most of them
get paid by the companies adverting on them, so you do not
get a true reflection of the best deals around. For cheap
bouquets of flowers, you would only get the cheapest florist
registered with that price comparison website.

Tip: Avoid companies
who use a relay network to deliver the flowers. Within the
price you get quoted is a fee that is sometimes refereed to
as a "relay fee" or "delivery charge".
This is a processing fee charged by the administers of the
relay network. If you must have flowers delivered by a florist
local to the recipient, try locating a local florist and ordering
them directly through them.
